SAHN Membership

The Scottish Accessible Housing Network (SAHN) brings together and is an authoritative voice for organisations that help disabled people with housing issues in Scotland. SAHN develops and strengthens its member organisations, helps make them more efficient. SAHN raises public and political awareness of the local and national housing needs and aspirations of disabled people and their families.
This umbrella organisation was formed in March 2007 and it specifically aims to:

• enable an exchange of information between organisations working on disability and housing issues
• disperse information and knowledge to the public, private and voluntary sectors about disability and housing issues
• encourage the formation of organisations to work on disability and housing issues
• advise and influence the approach of local authorities, UK and Scottish government departments and agencies in relation to housing and disabled people.

SAHN is currently developing a website to link disabled people to housing assistance. The members of SAHN are also keen to expand membership by encouraging current housing and disability organisations to join. Below you will also find some of the details of member organisations:

DPHS Fife (Disabled Persons Housing Service)

Is an independent, disability-led group which covers all of Fife. They provide free housing information and advice for disabled people living in Fife who have particular housing needs or issues. They work with people who are physically disabled, sensory impaired, learning disabled or those with mental health issues.
